Efficient Representation of State Spaces for Some Dynamic Models
نویسنده
چکیده
Many important economic problems require computation over state spaces that are not hypercubes. Examples include industry models of multi-product differentiated product firms, Bayesian learning problems with noisy signals and real business cycle models with heterogeneous agents. These problems have not been analyzed partly because of the difficulty in efficiently representing their state spaces on a computer. I develop a representation algorithm for the state spaces of the above problems, which potentially allows them to be solved with computational methods such as dynamic programming. I find that using this representation reduces the computation time and space by several orders of magnitude relative to a naïve representation. 1 I would like to thank Ariel Pakes, Ken Judd, Paul McGuire, Souresh Saha, seminar participants at the 1996 Stanford Institute for Theoretical Economics (SITE) conference and two anonymous referees for helpful discussions. Some Conditions for Characterizing Minimum Face in Non-Radial DEA Models with Undesirable Outputs
The problem of utilizing undesirable (bad) outputs in DEA models often need replacing the assumption of free disposability of outputs by weak disposability of outputs. The Kuosmanen technology is the only correct representation of the fully convex technology exhibiting weak disposability of bad and good outputs. Also, there are some specific features of non-radial data envelopment analysis (DEA...

Let a topological space. An intersection graph on a topological space , which denoted by , is an undirected graph which whose vertices are open subsets of and two vertices are adjacent if the intersection of them are nonempty. In this paper, the relation between topological properties of and graph properties of are investigated. Also some classifications and representations for the graph ...
متن کاملError bounds in approximating n-time differentiable functions of self-adjoint operators in Hilbert spaces via a Taylor's type expansion
On utilizing the spectral representation of selfadjoint operators in Hilbert spaces, some error bounds in approximating $n$-time differentiable functions of selfadjoint operators in Hilbert Spaces via a Taylor's type expansion are given.
متن کاملEffective Marking Equivalence Checking in Systems with Dynamic Process Creation
The starting point of this work is a framework allowing to model systems with dynamic process creation, equipped with a procedure to detect symmetric executions (i.e., which differ only by the identities of processes). This allows to reduce the state space, potentially to an exponentially smaller size, and, because process identifiers are never reused, this also allows to reduce to finite size ...

There are many evident that people are more interested in walking in attractive urban spaces and inappropriate physical and psychological condition can reduce their presence in a remarkable amount. The current research investigates the influence of physical design and psychological elements and their criteria on selective physical activity and specifically walking in urban public spaces. Howeve...
